RANLP-05. Recent Advances in Natural Language Processing

RANLP is a well-established biannual conference held in Bulgaria. The annual RANLP summer schools were organised in Bulgaria for more than 15 years as international training events. The successful RANLP conferences in 1995, 1997, 2001, and 2003 combined with the high quality of the invited talks and the accepted papers with "dense" training content and relative accessibility. The RANLP conferences are widely recognised as an excelent meeting venue for scientists coming from all parts of the world. Volumes of selected papers are usually published by John Benjamins (Amsterdam) in the series "Current trends of linguistic theories". The EuroConference RANLP-2001 and RANLP-2003 were partiall supported b the European Commission. At present RANLP-05 is retained for funding as Marie Curie Large Conference.

The conference will be held in the picturesque resort of Borovets. It is located in the Rila mountains and is one of the most famous ski and tourist resorts in South-East Europe. The conference venue Samokov hotel offers excellent facilities, including swimming pool, fitness, and sauna. Hiking trips are offered by the local organisers. Borovets is 1 hour awa from Sofia and 2 hours awa from Plovdiv, which means that both Sofia/Plovdiv with their international airports can serve as arrival/departure points. The are also excellent destinations for a day of sightseeing.
