We interpret the concept of a stereotype as "a building block" of the linguistic world picture (with reference to Ethnolinguistics School of Lublin). One of its principles is the opposition of “own versus alien” as a manifestation of anthropocentrism, with the connotations we/they, one's/not one's, human/inhuman etc., which were examined in phrasemes and metaphors especially. The study is focused on the implicit opposition “I versus you” in ordinary dialogic communication and addresses the question: When is the person in the role of the speaker (I) and the addressee (you) coded as the component of utterance with the highest degree of prominence? In Slovak as the pro-drop language, we use the structure of the verbal person + the personal pronoun I (ja) / you (ty, vy), even though a verb endings alone indicate the person clearly. Traditionally, expressiveness, emotionality and functional sentence perspective are considered to be the cause for explicit referencing. Is there a stereotype in the speaker’s / recipient’s coding that is determined by semantic verbs? We used the text-corpus method and Spoken Slovak Corpus (6 million words). The findings of the study are interpreted within the salience theory and the theory of stereotype.
