From the Mandate Programme (Highlights):
We live in a dynamic world with evolving demands, and our work is closely tied to secondary education. What matters most is that we remain a community.
Educational Activities
- Strengthening the faculty’s informational and promotional activities to highlight its strengths among a broader segment of society.
- Continuing the Open Doors practice while increasing visits to various schools in Sofia and across the country.
- Enhancing collaborations with school teachers to encourage their students to choose the specialties offered by the Faculty of Slavic Studies.
- Paying special attention to students who have chosen Bulgarian language and literature as a specialized subject.
- Proactively presenting the Postgraduate Qualification Programme (PQP) not only for teacher requalification but also for offering Bulgarian as a foreign language, as well as the other languages taught at the Faculty of Slavic Studies.
- Organizing discussions with professors and students regarding the content and formats of the educational process.
Research Activities
- Strengthening collaborations with Bulgarian Studies departments worldwide and supporting lecturers abroad.
- Encouraging faculty members who publish in prestigious, specialized, peer-reviewed, and indexed journals, as well as supporting participation in international and national forums.
- Supporting faculty members in their participation as experts for the Ministry of Education and Science (MOS) and as members of various literary juries and commissions.
Students and Alumni Career Development
- Enhancing the exchange of useful information related to study programmes, career prospects for graduates, and opportunities for extracurricular academic activities.
- Organizing lectures for students on topics related to intellectual property protection, copyright, technology transfer, artificial intelligence, and more, as well as interdisciplinary lectures with professors from other faculties of Sofia University.
- Encouraging off-site training, study trips, and participation in the Erasmus+ exchange programme, ensuring the recognition of selected subjects from foreign universities.
Material Infrastructure
- Maintaining and modernizing the faculty’s material infrastructure.
- Continuing the renovation of classrooms, offices, and corridors, as well as seeking solutions to the issues concerning the library and the classrooms near the cafeteria where foreign students are taught.
