for participation in an International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD Students
Dear colleagues,
The Faculty of Slavic Studies is proud to invite you to The First International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD students which will be held from 13 to 16 November 2014 in the central building of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
The areas in which we expect your abstracts are: Literary Studies, Linguistics, Old Bulgarian Studies, Folklore and Cultural Anthropology, and Methodology of Teaching Bulgarian Language and Literature.
A series of lectures of eminent Bulgarian scientists are provided within the Forum as well as scientific discussions at the center “Ivan Dujčev”and at the National Museum of History. The program includes round tables on the following topics: “Bulgarian Studies Abroad”, “Undergraduate and Graduate Student Exchange”, “Political and Journalistic Speech”, “Modeling Language for Software Applications”, “Education and New Media”. A reading with the participation of famous Bulgarian writers and an exhibition of books of university teachers and students will be arranged.
The last day, the 16th of November, 2014, is scheduled for a visit to the Rila Monastery.
The abstracts will be reviewed by an international scientific committee.
Working languages for the Forum are all Slavic languages and English.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is 15 October 2014. Abstracts should be submitted to the following address: su.forum.students@gmail.com.
Time given to the paper presentation – 15 minutes.
The materials of the Forum will be collected until 15 January 2015. After a scientific selection and editing, they will be published in the series “Dissertations” of the e-journal of the Faculty of Slavic Studies „Littera et Lingua“[1]. Distinguished papers will be published in the specialized editions of the Faculty of Slavic Studies as well („Българска реч“, „Литературата”, „Littera et Lingua“ and „Съпоставително езикознание“).
All the students are exempt from a participation fee.
The accommodation expenses for foreign participants who prefer to be housed in a dormitory shall be borne by the organizers.
