The Faculty of Slavic Studies has been registered as a publisher of electronic books with its own ISBN. Since 2024, these electronic books are assigned a unique DOI number. The subject matter of the published works fall within scope of humanities, specifically in the fields of literary studies, linguistics, and folklore. Each year, about 60 proposals are submitted by the departments for inclusion in the Faculty’s Publishing Plan. The financial subsidy for publishing activities amounts to an average of 40 000 BGN, which fully covers the planned publications.
As part of the International Philological Forum, the Faculty publishes the International Philological Forum Library (2017-2023); the monographic electronic series Experior (2022 – ), and the electronic series Event and Text (2024 – ).
To encourage academic publishing, the Faculty has established and awards annually two prizes – one for a book by an established scholar and one for a book by a young scholar in the fields of linguistics and literary studies.
The periodicals The Annual of the Faculty of Slavic Studies, Literaturata, Contrastive Linguistics, Colloquia Comparativa Litterarum, International Philological Forum, and Contemporary Linguistics, along with the temporarily discontinued Littera et Lingua and Bulgarska Rech, complete the Faculty’s publishing portfolio.
