INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

UNITY AND DIVISION IN LANGUAGES, LITERATURES AND CULTURES

 

9 – 11 MAY 2023

 

Dear Colleagues,

 

The Faculty of Slavic Studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“ has the pleasure to invite you in an International scientific conference “Unity And Division In Languages, Literatures and Cultures”, which will take place between 9 to 11 May 2023 at the Sofia University.

 

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION AND THEMATIC PANELS

 

In addition to individual participation, we would like to offer the possibility of creating separate thematic panels within the conference on specific scientific issues. Each panel should have a minimum of four participants.

Proposals for panel topics (including the list of panel speakers) should be sent by 28 February 2023.

Individual submissions should be sent by 10 April 2023.

The working languages of the conference are: Bulgarian, all Slavonic languages and English language.

 

CONEFERENCE PUBLICATION

The papers will be published in a book.  Each paper should not exceed 22,000 characters (including List of works cited and Appendices,).

The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2023.

All editorial instructions will be sent later.

 

PARTICIPATION FEE

The participation fee is 70 BGN. Students (MA and PhD) of Bulgarian universities and scientific institutions pay half of the fee, equal to 35 BGN.

Project “Bulgarian Studies” will cover the participation fee of foreign scholars in the field of Bulgarian Studies.

Please note that the travel and accommodation expenses are covered by conference participants.

 

The time, provided for each paper is 15 minutes.

 

The proposals for panels and individual talks may refer to one of the following THEMATIC GROUPS:

 

Literary Studies

Pandemics, loneliness, isolation – a dimension of suffering

Literature of transition. Hidden and overt dependencies

Literature of totalitarianism, critical reflections, readers’ nostalgia

The hybrid habitus: the human between the real and the virtual
