PHILOLOGICAL (RE)VISIONS

The topic “Philological (Re)visions” suggests a reflection on the status and possibilities of philology today. In the contemporary academic and cultural context, marked by intense technological, communicational and disciplinary transformations, philology is becoming an increasingly dynamic system of different scientific and interpretative approaches. The conference problematics includes both an analysis of the relevance and applicability of traditional methods in philological research and a discussion of contemporary theoretical, interdisciplinary and digital perspectives. The forum is open to subjects in the fields of linguistics, literary studies, cultural anthropology and folklore studies related to the history and current state of Slavic languages, literatures and cultures.

We suggest the following thematic areas:

  • Contemporary philology – legitimacy of traditional methodologies and new approaches
  • Digital philology
  • Philological (re)visions in the historical development of language
  • Contemporary linguistic thought and its philological (re)visions
  • Philological (re)visions of/in contrastive Slavic linguistics
